OBF’s
CodeFest, Galaxy’s
Hack the Galaxy, and the NIH’s
Data Commons Pilot Phase Consortium are all converging for CollaborationFest 2018. CoFest starts at 9am on Friday morning, the day after the GCCBOSC meeting ends and features 2, 3, or 4 days of collaborative work on projects that matter to open source bioinformatics.
CoFest will be held in the Performing Arts Building (PAB) and will make extensive use of classrooms and PAB Atrium, an ideal space for collaboration.
CollaborationFest has four tracks:
- OBF: Contribute to any open source bioinformatics project.
- Galaxy development (Galaxy Dev): Learn how Galaxy and Galaxy code development works, and contribute to the Galaxy code base
- Galaxy documentation, analysis, and training (Galaxy DAT): Focus on expanding Galaxy community resources like training materials and documentation.
- Data Commons
CoFest participants will coalesce around shared interests and address common challenges related to those interests. These clusters form before, at the beginning of, and throughout CollaborationFest. These clusters will be fluid and highly interactive with each other. These groups and clusters will be fluid and highly interactive with each other. There will be a joint gathering of all communities at least once a day.
